Inscribed in UNESCO's list of Intangible cultures in 2012, the practice of Buddhist chanting found in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, is one of India's interesting cultural practices. Originating in ancient times as a means to pass down the teachings of Buddha, the practice continues even today.
