भारत में बाघो की संख्या 3000 के पार हो गयी है। यह एक बङी कामयाबी है। आज से 17 साल पहले 2006 में भारत में सिर्फ 1411 बाघ थे। 1973 में भारत ने बाघ संरक्षण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रोजेक्ट टाइगर की शुरुआत की। 2023 में इस अभियान ने सफल परिणामों के साथ 50 साल पुरे कर लिये हैं।
